I went to my local tobacco store today to pick up a couple of cans of American Spirit tobacco and lo and behold the shelfs were almost empty. People have been stocking up as of late because of the oppressive tobacco tax coming our way. I normally pay 20 dollars a can but it will be double that on Wed. Packs of cigarettes will go up another dollar after already going up a dollar about a month back so they will be around 7 dollars a pack.

All I can say is that it's time whether I like it or not to quit..... I have no other choice. This is a ridiculous tax that singles out smokers to pay for childrens healthcare. What is wrong with this picture? Whether you're a smoker or not, the point is that when they start singling out one group to pay more taxes, it's just a matter of time before they single out the next group and so on and so forth. Look for the fat tax in a city or town near you in the future!!!!!

I guess the April Fools is on us smokers! I ain't laughing though.
