Do four-year-olds really need fitness bands? Parents criticise device that allows children to measure how much they exercise

  • LeapBand designed for children over four measures how much they exercise
  • Sparked a storm of criticism among parents who can track their activity
  • It resembles a watch with a screen and goes on sale to day costing £29.99

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

A company has launched a fitness band for children as young as four which measures how much exercise they do.

Its makers claim it is a useful tool to encourage youngsters to play and develop healthy habits as parents track their activity.

But it has had a less than positive reception from parents, who said that children should get out in the real world and play rather than ‘burying their heads in technology’.

The LeapBand, resembles a watch with a small screen and a virtual pet which is given rewards

I think this is just another tool for programming sheep from an early age. This sends different signals.

1) Making it the norm being monitored in some kinda way.

2) Consuming/spending

3) Always stay fit/in shape so you're not a economic burden for the society and so you fit the standards of the jugend core and later on army duty if they need you to exterminate some poor farmers in oilville.

4) Making the kids narcissistic hermits.

5) Further distance from the relation with nature

Just my take on it.

Hell no!!! What a perfect way for control freaks to indoctrinate young children into thinking that this is somehow normal because to a child that young, it's just a toy... right? Tracking a four year old child's fitness and activity? What dumb ass parent would do this stupid shit? Unbelievable!!!
