Glenn Beck Makes $32 Million a Year (Being a Corporate Mockingbird)

While I applaud him for being smart enough to host a radio show, go on tour, write books, etc – I am deeply sickened by this man. He is a puppet. He is a mouthpiece. He has no backbone and changes his stance on just about every issue. He promoted Ron Paul as a “kook” and his supporters as “potential domestic terrorists…” during the 2008 campaign. He viciously attacked Paul’s fiscal ideas but once the election was over, invited Ron Paul onto his show multiple times and courted him as though they were old college buddies.
Glenn Beck is a corporate mockingbird, saying whatever the highest bidder tells him to. What’s so sickening about this is that he plays upon those caught in the middle. Those people out there who are trying to follow politics but have a busy schedule fall into his trap. He is one of the best “politicians” I have ever seen when it comes to charisma and personality, even crying on television over something he was once so adamantly against. He runs a different agenda each day. If you are a fan or follow his shows, listen with a skeptical mind. He is not a part of the Tea Party. He did not organize the 9/12 Project. He rode the coat tails of the successful grassroots campaign who originally formed to elect Ron Paul to the presidency. In fact, that is the foundation of the current Tea Party and Campaign for Liberty. Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are not Libertarians nor are they on the side of Freedom. They are on the side of whoever is willing to pay them the most. Period.
Fox News host Glenn Beck made $32 million during a recent 12-month stretch ending March 1, according to an analysis conducted by Forbes. In addition to his Fox News gig, Beck hosts a radio show, writes books, sells merchandise and goes on tour with a show that blends stand-up comedy and his brand of conservative politics.
Forbes estimates that Beck makes $13 million a year from his books and on a 10-issue-a-year magazine his company publishes named “Fusion.”
Beck’s radio deal attracts an additional $10 million a year — he is currently working through a five-year $50 million contract — and Fox pays him $2 million for his 5 p.m. show.
In addition, Forbes estimates that Beck makes $4 million off of digital ads and merchandise purchased at glennbeck.com and $3 million from speaking fees and event appearances.
His production company, Mercury Radio Arts, which POLITICO reported in January fell behind on paying its taxes, employs 34 full-time employees. Forbes’ story on Beck, which was posted online Wednesday night, will be the magazine’s cover story later this month.
