Our track record in meddeling in foreign countries is about to get us another bloody nose.

No this comment is not about Syria, although it could also apply there.  I am talking about our longest overseas conflict:  Afghanistan.

Training in Pakistan has been going on for some time for militants who are going to be going into Afghanistan when we pull out next year.

Does this put you in mind of any other overseas adventure?  Think 'South Vietnam', and what happened shortly after the US declared victory and left them on their own.  Within a few months the country was overrun and all the US lives and money we put into that conflict were wasted.

You don't need a crystal ball to see what is going to happen next year in Afghanistan.  If there is any lesson to be learned from this then perhaps it should be that we should be spending all these billions of dollars making the US a better place to live rather than throwing it away overseas on peoples who don't like us and don't want us in their countries.

There is nothing going on in those sand pit countries that we need to stick our noses in, let them sort it out for themselves and if they do it by killing each other then that is how it will be.  Worry about the USA not about some squabble in the middle east.
