In Your Icy River of Blood

A heart as cold as stone in a winter blast

Temporarily passionate but it will never last

In the modern day world the casualties are vast

Victims in a hurry overlook their lover’s past,

Groping through a fog I stumbled upon you

You were different and I thought you could be true

The greatest mistakes come when it’s all shiny and new

A broken heart allows survival of a very few,

Like so many in a garden of stone here I lay

Trusting an easy lover will make you pay and pay

With integrity as moldable as clay

No matter how hard you try she won’t stay,

In a river of blood I get washed away
