In Disarray

Something missing in the sky today
Perhaps it's the empty bed where I lay

Maybe it’s just confusion adding to the dismay

Could be because my life is in disarray,

Look into these eyes of blue

So many things lost in this 30,000 foot view

All those things you put me through

Now existing in this human zoo

The spirit dance is up for review,

A part of me is gone for good

Like a scorched piece of redwood

There’s a shadow where I once stood

Gunned down by a man wearing a hood,

The stars aren’t as bright as they were

I hate when those old feelings stir

There was a time when my soul was pure

For the abandoned there is no cure,

An illusion of truth and doubt

Despite the prayers of the devout

How can life and love become such a drought?

There’s an unknown person in my mirror
