It really doesn’t matter what you say

She was never really yours anyway

Women get crazy over commitment these days

Freedom without accountability is the craze,

Infidelity will make you pay

There’s just no morality today

I know we’ve all got different ways

Arrogance is our current malaise,

She of course had all kinds of reasons

Is that why you could never enjoy the seasons?

In politics they call it treason

She traded you just like a Phoenician,

You hung in and her words got more terse

All those fond memories just made it worse

To her she just felt like your nurse

Now sentimentality has become so perverse,

It doesn’t really matter what you say

She was never really yours anyway

Freedom without accountability is the craze,

Run off on a trip and take a break

Believing in her was your first mistake

All those words that felt good were fake

She took an apple from the snake,

You thought her history might change

And because of you she’d rearrange

But now you’re the one who is estranged

Like dying cattle on the range,

Like the proverbial fool on the hill

You gave into to her obsessive will

In bed she’d never let you get your fill

There’s no solace in taking pills,

All the ones you thought cared for you

Now they’re gone and you’re sad and blue

They were the family you thought you knew

They don’t care now you know it’s true,

It doesn’t really matter what you say
