I knew I was Wrong
Until your unpredictable flight
Thought I’d endured the darkest of nights
As if love was forever blinded from my sight
Feel like I’ll crash from this thousand-foot height,
Seems like time escapes me everyday
This decrepit life since you’ve gone away
Don’t think I’ll ever ask anyone to ever stay
Seems there’s less and less time to pray,
Living alone is like death in itself
Like some spoiled condiment left on a shelf
Do you ever realize what you did to yourself?
This is more than I’d wish upon anyone else,
Funny how life can be a continued bad dream
You haven't awakened yet and you want to scream
Yet, all your life you've found things aren't what they seem
Just when it seems you knew it turned out to be a scheme,
Men spend their lives looking for an emerald princess
The girl spends her life seeking a leading man but not this
The indefinite search for perfection is all amiss
Like fishing endlessly and finding dead fish,
Only God can satisfy the longing in a man's soul
Only a savior can fulfill the leading man's role
Life becomes a maze of mirrors taking its toll
One feels like a criminal on an endless parole,
Is it that we really knew all along?
But we were much too weak not so strong
The ways of the world like a poison prong
Deep down inside God I knew I was wrong.
