Letter from ABC Network calling Bible a "book of stories"

Jim Writes:

My name is Jim Neugent. I wrote to ABC (on-line) concerning a program
called 'THE PRACTICE.' In last nights episode, one of the lawyer's
mothers decided she is gay and wanted her son to go to court and help
her get a marriage license so she could marry her 'partner.' I sent the
following letter to ABC yesterday and really did not expect a reply,
but I did get one.

My original message was:

ABC is obsessed with the subject of homosexuality. I will no longer
watch any of your attempts to convince the world that homosexuality is
OK. ' THE PRACTICE' can be a fairly good show, but last night's program
was so typical of your agenda. You picked the 'dufus' of the office to
be the one who was against the idea of his mother being gay, and made
him look like a whiner because he had convictions. This type of
mentality calls people like me a 'gay basher.'

Read the first chapter of Romans (that's in the Bible); and see what
the apostle Paul had to say about it...... He, God and Jesus were all
'gay bashers'. What if she'd fallen in love with her cocker spaniel? Is
that an alternative life style? (By the way, the Bible speaks against
that, too.)

Here is ABC's reply from the ABC on-line webmaster:

How about getting your nose out of the Bible (which is ONLY a book of
stories compiled by MANY different writers hundreds of years ago) and
read the declaration of independence (what our nation is built on),
where it says 'All Men are Created equal,' and try treating them that
way for a change!

Or better yet, try thinking for yourself and stop using an archaic book
of stories as your lame crutch for your existence. You are in the
minority in this country, and your boycott will not affect us at ABC or
our freedom of statement.

Jim Neugent's second response to ABC:

Thanks for your reply. From your harsh reply, evidently I hit a nerve.
I will share it with all with whom I come in contact. Hopefully, the
Arkansas Democrat Newspaper will include it in one of their columns and
I will be praying for you.

That does not mean they are not sincere and well-intentioned. Sorry If anyone didn't grasp my Sarcasm. "Gay" also means happy, just like "Queer" also means weird. So your anger has convinced me that christians are not "gay" or happy. btw,I never said I hate chistians, nor did I say that I believe that there's anything wrong with Gay people. Which would equate to my statements to be an Insult. Am I an Atheist? I have a personal relationship with God and would like to keep it that way.Sorry again, totally unsubstantiated assumption , and false. I just don't believe that the rules that were propagated on the world on a basis of a book that was written verbatum and rewritten in translated paraphrase should be used to divide and inflict conflict and guilt. Homosexuality HAS been proven to be a biolgical anamoly ,And we are all God's children........Sodomize Intolerance!(sic)

And, I forgot, I am a nurse and cared for MANY patients with AIDS, I cared for them and loved them as if they were my own...but when you look at what unnatural sex does to a humans body....it is obvious that it wasnt meant to be. Second, Leviticus 20. The Holy Bible: King James Version.
...13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon... (that is just one reference, the first chapter of Romans is another..there are more). 1John 5:17 says that some sin doesnt lead to death, but the above does.
There is hope though, Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way an the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him and will freely pardon.
Third, Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed for this.
Fourth, Proverbs 3:7 says to fear the Lord and shun evil. I dont go to them and do that, I simply avoid them. I am in the world but not of it. If it is shoved in my face I am supposed to tell them/rebuke him, if he repents, forgive him..Luke 17:3--JESUS said that.
Fifth, You said, "It is what it is", Jesus says, "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through which they come". He is a God of anger and wrath, look it up.
Sixth, As I have said, I dont go up to folks and tell them their sins, and I DONT want it being shoved down my throat either. I dont watch TV, I dont hang out with them and I dont want them coming to MY territory and try to force their ways and beliefs on me. Christians are sick to death of being told what they should and shouldnt accept. Murdering unborn children is also TOLERATED by this world, ITS STILL MURDER! And its unpopular as hell to tell someone that its murder, should we change our view on it??? If I accept it I am just as guilty as the ones committing it.
Seventh, This is MY blog, I will post what I chose and I wont be clearing it with you first. And if you cant accept God's word then that is on you! But dont come to my space and tell me about it, tell HIM.
Sorry, but you struck a chord in me also, and I need to speak my mind, and the mind of God on the subject.

Firstly, if you don't like a particular show because it offends you, don't watch it. Secondly, I have a cousin who is gay and many friends that are too and I love them for who they are and personally, don't care what they do in the privacy of their bedrooms. That's there business. Where is the tolerance, humanity, love, understanding that Jesus preached cause I'm sure not feeling the love right now. Are not gay people humans too and deserve to be treated as you would want to be treated yourself? Thirdly, what does atheism have anything to do with this thread? I've met good and bad people in every race, religion, sex, political affiliation, social status, ect..... It is what it is!

And just as the CONSTITUTION allows us to believe as we do, we choose to call an abomination what it is! BTW, how many hospitals, orphanages and soup kitchens have atheists built? And bad people that we are, we dont like murdering babies, bet that pisses you off too huh?

ABC is going down fast as are all the big networks because they are anti-Truth. Networks like trutv, that have the guts to broadcast Jesse Ventura's show are increasing shares.
