Letters from Mars
After all these years of having a home
I’m now forced to roam
Among those who are as cold as stone
The rattle in a closet full of bones,
It’s unclear what kind of outcome
Seems too often the clouds block the sun
The weight of betrayal seems to weigh a ton
Beset by situations that have me on the run,
A new chapter in life entitled “The Bitter End”
Barely subsisting devoid of friends
Regrets and recollections all seem to blend
I think I’ve been pushed as far as I can bend,
An intriguing series of letters from Mars,
Sometimes I read them to overcome the mental scars
A silent sanctuary located among the stars
I gaze at the “Red Planet” from afar,
She had eyes of green as she awoke from her trance
I found myself gripped by a celestial romance
Could I cross the interstellar distance and take a chance?
Being guided by these extraterrestrial implants,
She is now my extrasolar mate
Saving me from a depressingly lonely fate
Her alien metabolism seems to resonate
Love that my starry eyed princess and I can recreate,
Now I dream of the angry red planet
Living far underground beneath granite
I no longer miss earth with my scarlet princess, Janet
Now we relax and enjoy blue pomegranates.
