Like no Other

Dreams that will probably will never come to fruition

Open a page of “It’s a Mad House” a new edition

A rising tide of false hope entering intermission

Hopefully they won’t fight any wars using fission,

Trying to find the truth my sole reason to exist

Wondering if I’m on a surveillance list

Trying to remember the last time I was kissed

Why is ignorance the only true form of bliss?

Struggling with these topics in the depth of the night

It seems like things are just not quite right

Wondering if there’s enough reason to take flight

Another missing passenger jet out of sight,

Would there be war? I heard a man ask

Of course he was hiding behind his mask

Anyway I managed to take him to task

After that I had to drink brandy from a flask,

Flooding in one hemisphere and wild fires in another

Living on planet earth like a child without a mother

A hostile environment more likely to smother

To think I once loved you like no other,

The outcome I often wonder oh how I wonder

It seems civilization is being plundered

All my trust all my faith plowed under

Even love and marriage torn asunder,

Somewhere out in the ominous night

No rest for those who know what’s right

The powers that be keep the truth out of sight

Lord, I'm in your hands hold me tight.
