Losing Your Grip
The anxiety over the loss
Even a rolling stone gathers moss
Mental meditation beneath the cross
Betrayed when you showed them who was boss,
Separating reality from fairytales
You got the wind knocked out of your sails
Tears can leave a bitter trail
When the going gets rough spouses will bail,
It all seems like a distant dream now
But they never arrested Chairman Mao
Just doesn’t seem to make sense somehow
You were clueless when you took that vow,
Drifting through as the days pass by
Losing your grip but still you deny
Yet, you’re way too young to die
Decent human beings are in short supply,
Standing on the very edge
When I take that plunge then I’ll pledge
For my body they’ll begin to dredge
Just because of the dogma they allege,
Singing that last lonely song
Never could figure out what went wrong
Didn’t you ever feel you don’t belong?
World stood by as they cracked down on Hong Kong,
My unknown epitaph as the world goes on
Like the mist of morning dew on the lawn
They don’t realize they’re only pawns
The fine line of normalcy has been redrawn.
"Destroying the New World Order"
