No Way to Return

I would have done anything for you

I was a fool this much is true

In love with an illusion ice cold blue

Blinded by the alluring view,

These lies I was imprisoned by

Accompanied only by a lonely cry

Lurking through the graveyard hear my sigh,

A queen who happened to be so sly,

Imagination with strawberry wings

Unrewarding frivolous flings

Even a lobotomized fool can sing

Reaching out to touch Saturn’s rings,

No way to return to yesterday

The feeling is hopeless in the bed where I lay

Hearing footsteps walk out that way

For a return to sanity I hope and pray,

That was then and now it’s today

Lord if I could just meet you halfway

Just give me the truth without delay

Remember you molded man from clay,

Save me from life’s suicide mission

Just waiting for all elements to come to fruition

As society slides into omission,
