Misplaced Loyalty
It seems I missed all that fortune and fane
When you look in their eyes it all seems the same
Can't quite remember from where I came
Not quite sure about my name,
Seems there are lost memories to explore
Echoing from far offshore
I often wonder should I care anymore
Some will ask, what is this life for?
There’s a sea of infinity out there
I sometimes fall into it during nightmares
Tumbling in free fall but who cares?
Strolling by blushing faces and eyes that stare,
Trying to arrive at the truth they overlook
Fools who can’t think much less cook
Society’s protected class of crooks
Blind to the knowledge from books,
Behold, the predictable outcome of man
Perhaps even before the end of my lifespan
I’m just not part of the elite clan
But, I have decoded their diabolical plans,
I wondered if I had stumbled upon a goddess
A soul that I could caress
A mysterious creature to undress
Extracting me from this earthly mess,
The illusion faded like a mist
The fork tongued serpent now hissed
Damage control failed and the ship began to list
I bobbed in the water remembering when we kissed,
The liquid passage of time
Flowing eternally as the clock chimes
As I piece together this rhyme
I feel like I’ve crossed that fine line,
Crossing over into forbidden territory
Before I can even tell my story
As they carve new idols deep in their quarries
For the sake of misplaced glory and loyalty
"Destroying the New World Order"
