My Take on Mankind: Misanthropy VS Potential

From time to time, I must admit, I've sympathized with the global elite in their misanthropy. I watch people, I study people. And most of the time, what I see disgusts me. Obesity, laziness, stupidity, unchecked aggression, I could go on and on. People are a bombshell of insecurity and apathy.

On the other hand, I also see an immense beauty in mankind. Music, art, determination, compassion, and courage. People do amazing things. I heard on NPR yesterday a man explaining the technological feats involved in the construction of the LHC (large hadron collider) and I was in total awe.

So, there are many times in which I am torn. Should I stand and fight for the individual civil liberty of every person? Or should I sit back and cheer on the elite for controlling and often exterminating the wastes of space that most people are? This question drives me crazy sometimes. Yes, I do have a severe distaste for humans, but I also love them. Like that annoying little sister you wanna just punch in the face, yet, when the class bully picks on her, you kick his ass.

I weigh the pros and cons over and over again, and I always come back to one thing. This one thing is what keeps me on the side of the people. This one thing is what has checked my misanthropy and given me hope in mankind throughout the years: Potential.

Potential is inherent in every person. To rob a single person of their potential is to rob all of mankind of the possibilities inherent in that one person. I think of all the children who are looked upon by the elite as expendable. The children in the inner city slums of America, the children in Gaza, South Africa, South America, indeed all over the world. Each one has the potential to do extraordinary things.

Our leaders, instead of nurturing every person and giving everyone an equal opportunity to grow and flourish to their full abilities, do everything in their power to control the masses of flesh. Instead of distributing wealth in a way that works for everyone, they push down those that are "less worthy" and take all they can for themselves. And this is where the problem is...

We are at a point now in our evolutionary process where we have a slight, allbeit insufficient, grasp on how our reality, our universe works. We know beyond the shadow of a doubt that the Earth, without which we are literally nothing, has a finite life span. If nothing else happens, if the Earth has a perfectly happy and full life, it will one day be devoured by our Sun. It is inevitable.

Because of this, our collective main objective as a race should be to develop the technology required to inhabit and colonize other planets, and build self-sustaining space stations. If we don't do this before the Earth is destroyed by one force or another, we are absolutely doomed. Because of this, we should give every person on our planet and equal chance. Because, for all we know, the child that could grow to develop these technologies is sitting in Iran right now with his family, in his home, waiting to be expended by another war of conquest in the name of Israel.

I've had these thoughts too. People can be frustrating with all their flaws and sometimes you wonder if they're worth your efforts. And sadly many people won't fulfill their potential because of their flaws, but perhaps it takes a thousand apathetic, obese, lazy, stupid people to produce just one person who will achieve great things. So I do agree that we must continue to fight for humanity over the evil global elite.
