A little more than a year out from victory against Japan in the Pacific theater of war it is still a desperate fight to end the war in as swift a manner as possible and end the bloodshed. In order to achieve this goal the US and its allies will have to capture air bases close enough to the Japanese island chain to bring the venerable B-29 bomber within range in order to take the war to the Japanese homeland.
Plans are drawn
In order for this strategy to work one of the bloodiest campaigns of the war must be unleashed against Saipan, the most southerly located island in the Japanese territorial waters. It is here that US Marines and forces of the US Army will use a massive amphibious landing to invade the rocky mountainous island filled with Japanese bunkers, machine gun nests, and caves that will cost American lives in order to secure the two landing strips that will launch B-29’s and their escorting fighters to bomb the enemy’s homeland and shorten the war.
Amphibious assault begins
Even with a softening up campaign of heavy aerial bombing and battleship bombardments unleashed upon the island landscape still the enemy awaits the landing of US Marine LTV’s and Higgins boats full of soldiers waiting for that dash from the waist deep ocean waters to the bullet riddled sands of the contested shores. Japanese mortar and 75 mm. artillery will shower down upon the Americans as they fight to get ashore then to get to cover along the tree lines as they brave enemy small arms fire from the jungles beyond. In 3 days the US Marine troops take 3,500 casualties! Places like Red Beach, Blue Beach, and Yellow Beach will mark the bitterly fought landing points where men will die or suffer bullet wounds attempting to take ground.
The noble generation
Absorbing more enemy fire than on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day Saipan defenders deliver more punishment than has been seen in the war. Still these great heroes of a generation fast dying out today, who won victory in faraway lands they’d never heard of in school. For love of country and the American way of life they gave it all without complaints and only the assurance of death if they failed. A strong contrast between our young people of today who have been asked to give very little for the freedoms they enjoy compared to the greatest generation who had just endured the Great Depression.
The battle continues
Three main battle groups of 2 US Marine forces and one US Army column move from the south side of Saipan across the rocky, cave saturated mountains, and the contested shores of beaches that will run red with the blood of soldiers from both sides as they make their way to capturing the island and the important landing strips that will make it possible for US B-29 bombers to finally have the range they need to deliver the war to the Japanese main island. The going is slow and perilous and the killing is inevitable as snipers down US troops, and flame throwers subdue caves full of Japanese unwilling to surrender.
The fierce enemy
The most formidable Banzai charges of the war are endured by advancing Marines who are sometimes overrun despite artillery and small arms fire. The enemy is relentless and fanatical in the face of assured annihilation. As many as 4,100 Japanese attempt to stop the US Marines in one engagement all wiped out to the loss of 500 Americans, an 8 to 1 kill ratio. Japanese light tanks attempt to spear head the assault but are met by American M-4 Sherman tanks and it is no contest as only burning hunks of metal lay in waste as the Japanese are defeated and beaten back. After 21 days of fighting and heavy losses from both sides the final chapter of the island assault lies on one last mountain point where Japanese Admiral Nagaimo’s headquartered. One of the original Pearl Harbor attack commanders is now cornered along with his men and will face the end shortly. There is a pause before the last combat ensues.
Humanitarian overtures
Prior to this final phase, the villagers who have managed to survive the fighting between both sides are addressed by the Americans who set up powerful speaker systems. They bring in Japanese interpreters to speak to the islanders who were not combatants but who have lived through the occupation of the island by Japanese forces since 1914. Since then they have heard the stories from the Japanese of American savagery and are convinced they will be raped, tortured, and executed by the US liberators. The indoctrination only adds to the carnage that war weary Americans will have to witness at the end of the fighting.
Deadly results of brainwashing
Even though the Americans bring candy and medicine to the children many of the parents will choose to throw their little toddlers over the cliffs and then jump to their deaths as American servicemen plead with them not to take their lives. Some children greet the US Marines, but others will end up as floating bodies in the waters and rocky floors of the cliffs below. The final blow to soldiers who have fought bravely through terrible battles now must watch tearfully as mothers toss their children off of rocky ledges to their deaths brainwashed by Japanese propaganda not to surrender to the Americans.
When your government is now the enemy
If you think this kind of indoctrination and its effectiveness does not exist today you are mistaken. In America we fight for our way of live thanks to indoctrination by the enemy, but that enemy is not a foreign standing army, not a terrorist ring, not a rioting group of thugs looting stores in a suburb, nor a marauding gang of illegal alien drug cartel armed to the teeth, it is Democrat supporters who have been convinced by the US mainstream media that Donald Trump is another fascist Hitler, that Republicans threaten Democracy in our nation, that Christians interfere with women’s reproductive rights, that conservatives are book burners, when, in reality, it is the leftist activist factions, who want to suppress freedom of speech, and even violate election laws to ensure they will remain in power. Our very own federal government has become that foreign power that is poised to take away the Constitutional freedoms so many of our young men have died for in years past.
Conclusion
Indoctrination, brainwashing, programming, all achieved by our sold out mainstream media and the false narratives of the Democrat Party that have driven Americans against Americans willing to watch and support the destruction of their very own country in the name of misdirected political ideology and the intentional division of the American public that has led people just as stupidly as those survivors on Saipan who would commit suicide rather than accept a more forgiving and humane society for one full of chaos and socialism, even death in the belief that this kind of evil is acceptable! Modern civilized people, Americans who don’t appreciate what this nation has endured for the sake of peace and liberty willing to watch as their country sinks into socialist hell because they have been thoroughly indoctrinated in public education, televised news outlets, and the lies of the Democrat Marxist Party with the kind of lies that guaranteed the deaths of millions in the Soviet Union and Communist China, and still I ponder, how in hell could it possibly happen here and today?
