Occupy Wall Street protesters march in New York City.
TAMPA, Fla. -- From Australia and China to the Middle East and Russia, the world watches as "Occupy Wall Street" protests spread. "I think the United States, right now, is much more desperate than people realize," a former U.S. intelligence officer said on international TV.
The movement has spread from the streets of lower Manhattan to small towns in Vermont, Colorado, and even a rally in Tampa Saturday.
An organizer with "Occupy Tampa" said on YouTube during Saturday's rally, "The goals of the movement aren't clearly defined yet because the general assembly hasn't met yet in the numbers that are needed."
Few from the "Occupy" groups want to talk on camera because they say it's not about individuals. In fact, the protestors use 'general assemblies' to make decisions. Two assemblies are on the Occupy Tampa's protest agenda for Gaslight Park on Thursday. Essentially, they want a pure democracy with no elected leaders.
"Occupy Wall Street" groups across the country seem to be taking a page from other international revolutions -- using social media to mobilize, thousands, quickly.
