If it's Google Street View infamy you seek, why waste your time with a half-hearted wave to that passing Google car when you could make a real, uh, splash, with some scuba gear and pitchforks?
Two people in Bergen, Norway, are enjoying their five minutes of Internet fame this morning after Street View shots emerged of them
ambushing a Google Street View car and chasing after it in full diving
gear.
As a series of images on Huffington Post show, the pair waited on lawn chairs for the Google car to pass by, then got
up and chased after it and the camera while waving a pitchfork in the
air. (Norwegian daily Aftenposten reported on the story yesterday,
under the awkwardly translated headline, "Who chases Google with desires fork?"
The HuffPo rewrite makes an attempt to relate the stunt to growing anti-Google sentiment in Europe over privacy concerns, but we say, why
bother with such high-minded justifications? Let's just enjoy this for
what it is: A delightfully goofball stunt which will hopefully elicit
many more of its kind.
Follow the action by starting below and heading east on Rugdeveien while looking behind the Street View car:
