Planned Calamity

Got caught in a road rage incident just the other day

Just another self-proclaimed victim who wanted everyone else to pay

Dark skin and a beard looked like Taliban I’d have to say

As I dodged bullets I never asked to enter the fray,

The other evening went shopping at the mall

When bullets flew and police got the call

I just had to get out of the house that’s all

Saw several bullet riddled bodies fall,

Went to pick up my child at public school

It was forcefully entered by some fool

He was firing his rifle because he claimed ridicule

Apparently the psycho wanted a police duel,

It was busy at the airport this afternoon

Who came in but a lone armed baboon?

Oh no another mass shooting this soon?

I’ve come to the conclusion that no one is immune,

There were muzzle flashes in the restaurant

A jilted lover shooting at the debutante

I think it all happened in the state of Vermont

The kind of situation you do not flaunt,

The lone mentally disturbed gunman

As much a myth as the Flying Dutchman

 Peeling back the layers of his psychological onion

Sometimes I think the evil blocks out the light of the sun,

Somewhere there’s an answer for all this insanity

Nothing but a stain upon humanity

But it has so much to do with social vanity

Can’t help but think this is all planned calamity.
