Not too long ago that I should have fallen off the planet

All over a woman whose name wasn’t even Janet

How can you be attracted to someone evil like a magnet?

Sadly in today’s world unions are not etched in granite,

He and she were like binary stars

They complimented each other like harmony from a guitar

Like the color red and the planet Mars

They radiated love even from afar,

Sadly, there’s something poison in the air

It all begins with an illicit affair

Al it took was one spouse who no longer cared

And a promiscuous partner with a certain flair,

Since then I’ve had so much time to think

Your life can evaporate before you within a blink

In a world where I no longer feel in sync

Time will always compel you to rethink,

Only phantoms and illusions ever come near

I might as well be in the stratosphere

Why is it now that the whole world seems queer?

Waiting for my assailant at Cape Fear,

Funny how you told me I was the only one

I was so much different and so much fun

But somehow the garrison was overrun

Now I wonder what life has become
