Sasquatch Land

There’s something lurking out there in the woods

And whatever it is it’s not good

Maybe go out there with a flashlight maybe I should

Wish I could run if only I could,

There’s something out there that doesn’t belong

All the sounds of the night sucked out and gone

An eerie silence saying something’s wrong

Perhaps some unknown creature that’s brought evil along,

We all know of the shadows in our minds

We create monsters that we’re just waiting to find

Perhaps sometimes we’re just a bit misaligned

But this is the misguided nature of mankind,

The “Boogey Man is out there yes indeed

He’s ominous and evil of a supernatural creed

Foreboding and horrible God won’t you intercede?

Perhaps it’s an apex predator that has to feed,

A child disappeared the other day

Not a trace was left just huge footprints to our dismay

It’s happened before always been that way

The police investigation is all in disarray,

The misty woods and nocturnal wilderness hide them well

Some people know them by their awful smell

But where do they come from no one can tell

Can’t even roughly establish where the victim fell,

Some say they’re apes while others disagree

They’re large, intimidating, and hairy

Maybe they came from aliens under the sea

Now from behind locked doors hoping it doesn’t get me,

This all unsettling and unplanned

I feel the sweat in the palm of my hands

I’ll grab my shotgun, go out there, and be a man

Then I realized, I’m in the middle of Sasquatch land.
