Queen Elizabeth II addressed the United Nations on Tuesday for the first time
in more than half a century and was braving a 100F heat wave to pay her
respects at the site of New York’s 9/11 attacks.
The 84-year-old
British monarch last addressed the UN General Assembly in 1957, a year
after UN deliberations were dominated by the Suez crisis that marked a
