The great-great grandson of Civil War general Robert E. Lee has said he is 'fine' with the removal of Confederate statues.
Robert E. Lee V, 54, from Washington DC, condemned the violence displayed by 'alt-right' neo-Nazi and white supremacists in Charlottesville and said it might be more appropriate for Confederate statues to be moved to museums.

In a press conference this week, the president drew criticism after saying 'I do think there's blame on both sides' and that there were 'very fine people' in the crowd that had 'a permit' to protest against the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee.
'Eventually, someone is going to have to make a decision, and if that's the local lawmaker, so be it. But we have to be able to have that conversation without all of the hatred and the violence. And if they choose to take those statues down, fine,' Robert E. Lee V told CNN.
