Shadow of the Asteroid
My thoughts were lost in a sudden breeze
Could have heard a butterfly sneeze
Then I fell to my knees
To the unaccountable deities,
Was it the shadow of the asteroid?
That made me a bit paranoid
I reflected on those moments that I enjoyed
Despite the evil forces that are deployed,
Jenny hadn’t begun yet to even know
Which way to find her soul
So she’s busy portraying false roles
Among the cemetery rows,
A troubled world with no way out
Most lemmings don’t know what it’s all about
Intelligent minds filled with doubt
Wiser spirits of the past can only shout,
There’s an echo in the other room
Accented by the veil of gloom
A jilted lover’s tomb
Seems black roses are in bloom,
Hearing the cries of the past
How much longer will the insanity last?
Seems the magic curse has been cast
Standing in the shadows still aghast,
The news is always grim these days
Makes you want to blow away
The idiotic things people say
There will be a time when they pay.
