Some Restraint
It was weird when I met you
You were disillusioned and blue
No one could seem to get through
You were looking for a man who was on cue,
I gave that chance to you
Happiness is just like glue
If you give it a chance it will stick to you
It's a recipe that's tried and true,
Your Mom and Dad never loved you enough
So your childhood was a little rough
Why make your lover's part so tough?
He was there for you right off the cuff!
The human mind is a Satanic find
Absorbing all that's good even sunshine
But using lovers with an ax to grind
Killing love like a road that's mined!
My little angel I came to you
I had these feelings out of the blue
In order to see me you had to cheat that is true
Those consequences I must now chew,
Karma strikes accurate and true
What you confess will punish you
The pain you cause will only brew
We become the prey without a clue,
Well I stole an unhappy wife
To my throat I should have hefted a knife
It has cost me so much strife
Causing me such a miserable life,
The angel I thought I saved
Was the road to hell that I paved
I kept believing all those lies
I was just a fool feeling victimized,
My confessions near to thee
Oh dear Lord hear my plea
The world was not going to set me free
I committed those actions that convicted me,
I'm just a disillusioned bitter boy
Once driven by being a seductress's toy
Was I just a mattress cowboy?
Righteousness I could not enjoy!
Lord, let me testify today
When my whole family ran away
And I was the lonely fool here to stay
Living a life cursed by shades of gray!
It's like Babylon whatever you paint
Did you ever think that you were saint?
Remember the true of heart will often faint
I'm the Devil don't you know I need some restraint.
