It was on October 26th, 1881 that the famous "Gunfight At The O.K. Corral" took place in Tombstone, Arizona.

Almost 130 years later a little north of Tombstone, another gunfight has taken place in an attempt to assassinate a sitting member of the House of Representatives.  A Federal judge and a nine year old girl born, ironically, on 9/11/2001 were not as fortunate and were each struck down, along with at least four other people.  As of this writing, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is still with us, although in critical condition.

The parallels to other incidents and coup d'etats within this country are mind numbing.  The alleged shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, had a fascination with mind control...much like another assassin with three names, Mark David Chapman, the man who assassinated John Lennon.  The victim, Gabrielle Giffords, was someone who had open disagreements with the rank of file of her party, much like JFK and RFK did.  Could this have been a "left on left" hit, much like the events of the tumultuous 1960's?

The talk has been quick to blame anyone and everyone on the right side of the aisle, obviously in an attempt to keep us all divided and conquered within the left-right paradigm.  If you truly want to point a finger at Sarah Palin for having crosshairs on Giffords on her website up until Giffords had been cut down, so be it.  Those very same people will not tell you that the Daily Kos, a leftist blog, did the same thing to Republicans in 2008.  Oh, but I guess that doesn't count.  They want to now continue efforts to silence Glenn Beck for his rancid ideologies.  But when you silence Glenn Beck, you open the door to silence anyone and everyone you want.

Whatever happened to just stop doing business with a show's advertisers?

The next plan of attack in the wake of Gifford's brush with death (again, as of this writing) will no doubt to be to pass gun control legislation.  Look at the major cities in this land.  Gun control has only giving "the bad guys" access to guns, and has restricted the average citizen from the right to defend himself or herself.  Do we really need more of this?

If we have learned anything since 9/11, then we know that our leaders will use this incident to pass some insanely unjust law to restrict our freedoms further.  Be on the lookout for it.  If government creates the problem (as seems very likely the case here with this latest inside job), and serves as a steering committee to create the reaction, it will no doubt create the solution.
