Before I forget, and since this will be my last blog entry before Christmas here on 12160, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

And now, time for the usual shenanigans.

While most of the country either sat behind their TV screens watching professional pigskiners or prepared themselves for the coming Christmas holiday, the United States Senate was up to some deviousness.  The Congress of this country, long known for pre-holiday hi-jinks (just like 1913 and the passing of the Federal Reserve Act under some questionable circumstances) in the name of speeding up the progress that usually moves at a snail's pace, decided to revive the seemingly dead food "safety" bill S. 510 yesterday.  This Frankenstein of a bill does not keep your food safe, of course.  It gives the food lobbyists free reign whatever they see fit to do with the processed food that's already leading to the American's people decay of physical fitness.

It's said that half the population in 2020 will be suffering the effects of diabetes at the rate we're going.  But legislation like this will only ensure that those rates will continue to climb.  Just keep going to your department store of choice and keep eating our processed poison, folks.  Nothing to see here, so don't bother reading the ingredients.  And don't get any wise ideas about growing your own food, or a garden either.

Another coup d'etat against the American people, using a bill designed to sound like a good idea (much like the "Patriot Act" in 2001), but will, in reality, do anything but help the populous as a whole.  And you can't have coups without a key player or component being given "stand down orders."

Tom Coburn, the Republican Senator of Oklahoma, promised to filibuster anything regarding food safety, but shockingly, he relented when the bill came up once more.  The Washington Post reaches Sen. Coburn's spokesperson yesterday, and even the spokesperson was stunned and couldn't answer why the Oklahoman stood down.

Uhhhhh huh.

If one needed any further proof that the people we elected are traitors, every last one of them, yesterday's escapades in the halls of Congress should be more evidence of that very fact.
