THERE'S SOMETHING OUT THERE: Astronomers Find Repeating Signals From Galaxy 3 Billion Light-Years Away

“Bursts from this source have never been seen at this high a frequency."

On August 26, scientists with the Breakthrough Listen initiative at the University of California, Berkeley, which is devoted to discovering signs of alien intelligent life, recorded 15 repeating fast radio bursts (FRBs) from a dwarf galaxy 3 billion light-years away.

Since FRBs, which last only a few milliseconds, were discovered 15 years ago, over 20 have been recorded, and most don’t repeat, but in 2016 one did; the scientists called it FRB 121102. More than 150 high-energy bursts have been observed coming from FRB 121102.

On August 26, 15 more bursts came from FRB 121102. They were recorded using the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia.

As Newsweek notes, “Because FRBs have an extremely short duration, and because scientists usually find them in data only after the event has taken place, pinpointing their origin has not been possible.”

Just imagine when was the first time a species came to our borderline intelligence level. Did they have the same problems with psychopathic rulers driving their species into hellish existence? Did they pollute the environment to the brink of biological collapse? Did they use nuclear weapons, or deliberately spill nuclear waste all over the place, i.e. depleted uranium ammunition? Did they poison their own species? Did they mass murder their own species by wars for natural resources and occupation of distant lands? Did they destroy the emerging culture and instill decadence and filth in the minds of the population?

I cannot consider the human race as a collectively intelligent species, given all the stupid things that we have made together as a species. Only a madman would have committed all the ridiculous things listed above. There is no doubt that intelligent individuals have existed and do exist, but why are we not capable of an intelligent coexistence all together?

I'm sure a large number of species did solve the above problems or didn't have them to begin with. Imagine a species that developed in all aspects and managed to survive a supernova explosion of their home star, immigrated to other solar systems or even galaxies billions of years ago. What would they say of all the chaotic insanity presenting itself here?

Some civilizations went through a nuclear war 3 billion years ago and we are just now learning about it.

Happened three billion years ago at a distant galaxy.
