Just another propagandist lying to you and me

The so-called political leader in office with their platitudes

Their allegiance and patriotism all askew,

Thought I knew you better than this

Reality too easily blurred over just a kiss

Fate just might be just little more than a near miss

Remember when staring down into the abyss,

History has become a very grim reminder

Counting how many souls have perished in the meat grinder

Too many people wearing their blinders

Could you just have been a little kinder?

Hearing the disturbing news today

Full of fear and moral decay

Does anyone every really listen to what you say

For humanity it’s just another cold, gray, day,

I learned my lesson very well

When everything I counted on fell

Including you my little femme fatale

The tales that dead men will never tell,

It’s been much too long since there was love

Nothing to offset the push and shove

No fantasies from which dreams are made of
