Trump aides welcome new GOP platform language expressing 'unequivocal support' for Israel

Aides to presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Wednesday welcomed new language approved by the GOP's platform committee expressing "unequivocal support for Israel."

"We wish to express our deep appreciation to the members of the subcommittee for their tireless efforts in crafting this plank," a joint statement from Jason Dov Greenblatt and David Friedman, advisers to Trump on Israel, reads. http://www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Trump-aides-welcome-new-GOP-plat...

"From conception to approval of this plank, we have witnessed the incredible dedication to Israel shared by so many individuals and we were humbled by this show of dedication and honored to take part in this process," the statement continues.

The statement also praises the committee's addressing of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanction movement, also known as BDS, who call it an "anti-Semitic" organization that "hurts Israelis, Palestinians and the hope for peace."

"We are also pleased that the committee has recognized that BDS is a modern manifestation of anti-Semitism. The BDS movement is not interested in promoting peace and coexistence, or in forging a better future for Israelis and Palestinians," according to the statement.

Trump and Chillary are both under Zionist control, but Trump is less dependent.

“The Republican platform is most pro-Israel of all time!” he tweeted, in a post that received more than 6,000 likes.

The new platform, the language of which was approved by the Republican Party's Platform Committee on Tuesday, omits references to a “two-state solution” to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

It also rejects “the false notion that Israel is an occupier” and describes Jerusalem as Israel’s “indivisible” capital.

The changes to the platform reflect the positions of Trump, who said this past March that he would recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and move the American embassy there if elected.

Trump has been consistent in his support for Israel. Recently, when asked during a campaign rally about the United States “wasting money on Zionist Israel”, he replied, “Well, let me just tell you Israel is a very, very important ally of the United States, and we are going to protect them 100 percent. 100 percent.”

Israel, added Trump, has “been our most reliable—it’s our true friend over there, and we’re going to protect Israel 100 percent.”

the new Israel platform passed by the full platform committee on Tuesday, and a video of Rep. Clemmons passionate speech (any emphasis was added for publication on this site)

Like the United States of America, the modern state of Israel is a country born from the aspiration for freedom, and standing out among the nations as a beacon of democracy and humanity. Beyond our mutual strategic interests, Israel is likewise an exceptional country that shares our most essential values. It is the only country in the Middle East where freedom of speech and freedom of religion are found. Therefore, support for Israel is an expression of Americanism, and it is the responsibility of our government to advance policies that reflect Americans’ strong desire for a relationship with no daylight between America and Israel. We recognize Jerusalem as the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish state, and call for the American embassy to be moved there in fulfillment of U.S. law.

We reaffirm America’s commitment to Israel’s security and will ensure that Israel maintains a qualitative military edge over any and all adversaries. We support Israel’s right and obligation to defend itself against terror attacks upon its people, and against alternative forms of warfare being waged upon it legally, economically, culturally and otherwise. We reject the false notion that Israel is an occupier, and specifically recognize that the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions Movement is anti-Semitic in nature and seeks to destroy Israel. Therefore, we call for effective legislation to thwart actions that are intended to limit commercial relations with Israel, or persons or entities doing business in Israel or in Israeli-controlled territories, in a discriminatory manner.

The U.S. seeks to assist in the establishment of comprehensive and lasting peach in the Middle East, to be negotiated among those living in the region. We oppose any measures intended to impose an agreement or to dictate borders or other terms, and call for the immediate termination of all U.S. funding of any entity that attempts to do so. Our party is proud to stand with Israel now and always.
