USPS vs. Private Mail Box Co's

Can I borrow a couple of banannas until payday?
With the semi-private Postal Service supposedly being deep in debt, some post offices are now offering new services to attract business.

Before going on, you might note that I said 'supposedly being in debt', this bunch of circus clowns only needs to sell off some of its billions of dollars worth of unused or underused property and buildings to be solvent again.

Instead they want to raise prices to consumers.  Past time to fire some of the overpaid brass at that outfit.

Some post offices are now letting you sign up to use, at no additional charge, your existing post office box address and also use the street address of the facility as your own address.

This is important as many delivery services will NOT ship to a Post Office Box number.  Now you can have the use of an actual street address where they can deliver parcels, as they say in their handout materials:  "Both Street Addressed mail and P O Box addressed mail can now be delivered to your PO Box."

They have also added 'Real Mail Notification' where you provide your email address or phone number for a text notification of mail being put into your box.

The USPS has for years been annoyed with the Private Mail Box firms for poaching their clients.  Now they are finally taking some steps to be competitive.
