Jason Westcott had no criminal record to speak of, and yet he died in a SWAT “drug raid” on his house which yielded only $2.00 in marijuana.
It all started when a confidential informant lied to police about Westcott. That informant, who approached the Tampa Bay Times in July using the name Coogle, was a 50-year-old felon and drug addict.
Coogle says that he was “the principal Tampa Police Department informer against at least five suspects this year,” according to the Times. He was part of nine undercover operations, with Tampa’s police chief praising his “track record.”
But Coogle says that he repeatedly lied about suspects, and also stole drugs that he used tax-payer money (from police) to purchase. He admits that he completely fabricated everything about Jason Westcott, a young man who had no criminal convictions whatsoever.
But that lie was all police needed – no fact checking or verification of the rumors Coogle spun. They asked for and received a warrant to kick down his door for a drug raid.
But the SWAT team found just $2.00 worth of marijuana… and by that time, they had already shot and killed Westcott.
Watch the local news report below and help us get the word out about this criminal injustice, carried out about those who are supposed to be enforcing the law.

They might as well have planted that $2 worth of weed.
