Watch End of the World Streaming LIVE - CERN started LHC First Physics Experiment and Webcast

OK maybe not the end of the World... but you never know

The LHC is ready to collide particles this morning. CERN has started the live webcast and you can watch the LHC control room and be there first hand when it blows up - just kidding.

The LHC (Large Hadron Collider) is set to generate collisions at 7 TeV (3.5 TeV per beam). It is not known yet when the first collision will happen.

Currently CERN expects the first collisions in a couple of hours.

GaryRea, you're right, sorry.

Still, God is a wonderful myth. It causes man to murder each other in its name.

This might prove once and for all that God is a fantasy which many people fear for obvious reasons.

The very small portion of the scientific community that claimed this was a danger is and was wrong since CERN collided atoms today successfully and we weren't swept away by a runaway black hole.

Gary Rea's links are biased in one direction. If you want a severely limited and biased perspective use them. Otherwise, stick with the physicists because there are many thousands that believe in this project and where it will take us.

well jeff when you understand the world is run by a bunch of psychpaths who control and own these scientists, messing about with powerful technology don't look good for us useless eaters

I'm not sure where this science will lead but I wouldn't ever want to stifle it. Understanding physics, the possibility of 4th dimensions and more, dark matter and black holes is critically important to human beings on earth and it's like anything I suppose. There might be positive and there might be negative uses for the science that develops. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be developed.

This isn't GM food or fluoride or chemtrails. This is particle physics. A totally different world of math and science.

Leaving things up to the creator? I though everything already was the creators will?

This experiment will never be finished. It's physics. There is no end to it.

geo engineering the planet with chemtrails is also another good experiment
Comment by illuminated-dj on March 30, 2010 at 1:02pm
so jeff what happens when this experiment is finished?is it going to be used to benefit humanity?

No, it isn't good for your teeth and you know that. THIS isn't fluoride. Duh. Do some research on real web sites instead of obscure Nazi conspiracy sites. There's enough solid information written about this subject to fill several libraries.

"i just dont trust the people behind it or those who are funding it and never will."

That's because you don't know or understand the first thing about it and rather then go to decent web sites to LEARN, which a person desiring illumination would do, you went to some obscure weird ass web site that's not related to science or physics and got your brain all twisted up and see it as some great "fluoride" like conspiracy. It isn't. It's called SCIENCE. PHYSICS. People do these things. BRILLIANT people.

Equating a scientific exploration of particle physics with something the Nazi's were doing is the same as putting up a link to a Chinese web site that doesn't work. What people fail to take the time to understand is usually what they fear.
