What Other utopia?

The queen of the night

Blankets all screams from my sight

Spreads a canvass of stars in flight

Only nocturnal spirits will hold me tight,

The princess of galactic proportions

Leads my dreams through illusions and distortions

The treasure of momentary escape of my misfortunes

For once, I suffer no extortion,

Where are you now I occasionally wonder?

You’re the source of my pain and blunder

Amazing what people will do when allowed to plunder

My little, assassin you stole my thunder,

So much for reflections from the past

Nothing in this world is made to last

Just as every shadow is cast

Traitors used to be hanged from the mast,

Love is like double jeopardy on the chessboard

Only momentary asylum from the horde

Hopefully forgiveness from the Lord

Do these sentiments sound a sympathetic chord?

Oh Mistress of the night swallow me

Enveloped in your darkness I’ll be free

Like an unborn child adrift in the amniotic sea

What other utopia can there be?
