Was old house hunting other day, after all it t'was 82 degrees....fook ya!! I am not real deep into the woods (Area happens to be where one of the last Civil war skirmishes transpired before Appomattox) but I am a couple miles away from any major or minor back roads. I find this fallen tree that looked comfortable and decide it was an appropriate time for a 420 break. About ½ way through my break ;) I spied this "log", or what I thought was a end of log sticking out of a debris pile of leaves, branches, moss, etc. I noticed it looked like it had a bit of carving done to it. I lift the "log" out of the pile and WOW, the what, who, where, why's were flying instantly. Had to rethink what the hell I rolled in that joint ;)  The end of the "log" was actually the base to this bizarre & misplaced sculpture.

ok then, this was mind blowing, there are no marks, dates, signatures or any indication who made this or when. His fingers on both hands end up laying flatly across the top of his head. theres a bowl formation carved in the base of it @ his feet.

I'm no art expert by any means, but its my opinion this was made in the 60's, maybe 70's simply because of the carving style of the fingers and hair, they have that 60's cartoon looking finger nails and extended digits. Now there wasn't a house or building within a mile or so. I'm good @ determining whether a location used to have a house or structure on it, and I can't see where there was anything in this spot ever.

to me, I think it's a piece some stoner hippie made in the sixties, it was going to be a /magazine holder/ small table top w/ an ashtray or stash base, perhaps a water pipe holder w/ stash base????

Just friggin bizarre is all I can say, I have found a lot of crazy chit in the woods w/ metal detectors, but to just find this laying in a brush pile in the middle of nowhere is just crazy.....thought I'd share ;)

Meanwhile, aprox-15 miles south, near the birthplace of 70's TV show "Hee-Haw's" Roy Clark, one can only wonder what the hell these natives are sacrificing

Weird. Somehow I came to think about Satanic ritual abuse.

Hmm... that is bizarre and quite disturbing to tell you the truth. I'm no expert on wood carvings but to me it looks like a human in a state of distress by the expression on the face, the emaciated body (rib cage cleary visable) and the way in which the person is sitting with knees touching the elbows, the hands are covering the top and back of the head and the pointer fingers are clearing pointing upward to the sky... possibly a message of being near death (heaven)?

I think it may be a depiction of a slave, from what period I'm not sure of. That's my two cents for what it's worth ; )
