I saw this video and it set me back through a time tunnel to the early years before the world touched my children. By the world touching my children, I mean any kind of schooling by the public standard.

I used all of the early assistance programs for the early development of pre-school aged children that I and my children qualified for. Yes, we were poor. I am not ashamed to say that. This attitude carried us through hard times, all of us.

The difference was, I was in control of the lessons taught. If I did not approve, the lesson was skipped.

Now, I was not the perfect parent, by no means, don't get me wrong. But I did allow my children to use the brain that grew inside their tiny little heads. I did not teach them hate or be prejudice. I did not teach them their was a god. I did not teach them to cuss. They were allowed to be as innocent or not at their will.

If they asked me a question I gave them an honest answer to the best of my ability, if that was not good enough for them or I felt that I could not give them a complete enough answer, we would study on it together.

My children were allowed the privilege of being just that children. Their imagination was allowed to be free and think and study and wonder.

Now in this year I look at the children's faces and I see eyes way older than they should be, eyes looking for the knowledge their mind knows is out there, sad little faces. People of the future that are already in despair.

We are sadly mistaken if we believe we will never see the future, it sits before our eyes and yet we are so stupid we fail to realize this fact.

When you look into a child's face you are looking into the future. Do not allow our children to show us despair and regret as we look into the future.

If you can not standup for yourself and unite, then stand for our children, our future.

High five and every other congratulatory salutation to this mother for bonding with her child and her future, thanks mom, you are doing great. Mary told us so!
