Edward Bernays defined the principles of manipulation of masses in his book; Propaganda. “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country.” Could you spell it out more blatantly than that? An invisible government, a true ruling power of the country! And the ruling powers haven't been resting on their laurels since the days of Bernays, but have developed their manipulation techniques to a true science of mass mind control. It isn't funny anymore.

Isn't that exactly what marketing and commercials are aiming at. Knowing that the television and the news papers are controlled by a few companies, in fact monopolizing the media, it becomes obvious that you would not hear serious critique of the system in the media.

Assigning Jim Carrey, a man of just about zero credibility, to ridicule things may seem a good idea. However, it's a double-edged sword. Isn't it just too obvious what they are trying to do here? What if "people have been hired by the government to distract you, to make you laugh, make you happy and docile so you don't know what's really going on" followed by a chorus of laughter, is the most sensible thing Jim has ever said? What if "they are trying to turn us into consumer drones" is the second most sensible thing?
