Tokyo, Japan (AHN) - A former Japanese finance minister who had resigned from his job after appearing drunk at a Group of 7 news conference in Italy in February was found dead at his home on Sunday.
Although he had apologized, Shoichi Nakagawa, 56, had denied being intoxicated at the time, blaming it instead on taking too much medication because he wasn't feeling well, according to reports.
Nakagawa's wife reportedly found him laying face down on his bed. Police are investigating but say there was no sign of foul play or a suicide note.
However, because the cause of death is unknown an autopsy is being conducted.
Very sad ! I pay my condolences to the family and his friends ! May God palce him in peace and provide the family to endure this loss. With all prayers and well wishes. sympathy sayings
