CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO MAYOR WANTS OPEN CARRY OF FIREARMS IN TOWN FACILITIES

Castle Rock, Colorado, Mayor Mike Donahue is pushing to repeal a 2003 ordinance that bans the open carry of firearms in town facilities.

Open carry is already legal "in most public places in Colorado," and Donahue wants city laws on town facilities to comport with this.

According to Denver's 9News, Donahue believes "more armed people equals more safety."

Castle Rock Councilman Clark Hammelman opposes the Mayor's position and says he does not "believe that allowing people to openly bring guns into town council meetings and other town meetings, such as the planning commission's meeting, where tempers sometime get hot, is a good idea at all."

Donahue answers Hammelman's argument by pointing to the heinous gun crimes committed in gun-free zones—particularly those "at schools and movie theaters." He said, "Firearms were banned in all those areas and yet it doesn't help stop any of this insanity."

The Colorado Second Amendment Association reports the repeal of the 2003 ordinance will be debated during Castle Rock's January 21 town council meeting, beginning at 6 p.m

the Mayer's got it right....

Hammelman, sounds Jewish? hes an idiot, like all the other NWO Jews collectively attacking our rights.

Concealed carry, open carry, this shouldn't be, it's still restricted, hows about we carry any dam way we please, no restrictions on honest citizens, period.

I think everybody should be able to carry.

A lot of good and innocent people would die in the beginning but almost all of the truly deserving "bad"people would be done away with real quick by the good ones that are left.

Good people are so tired of the bull crap from punks who think they know something, when in reality they are barely smart enough to wipe their own ass properly.

The 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights says the right of the people to keep and bare Arms, shall not be infringed....not just for some but all people.

If this was so the balance would stabilize.
