Four people are confirmed dead and at least 14 people are injured following a shooting at the Fort Hood army post Wednesday evening, according to the House Homeland Security Chair and U.S. Representative from Texas Michael McCaul.

10:05pm Central -- According to medical press conference at Baylor, Scott & White:

--Will treat a total of 9 patients from the Fort.

--All patients in ICU—3 listed in critical condition.

--7 males and 1 female.

--No need for additional blood supplies from public.

--Injuries ranging from mild to life-threatening.

--Two have undergone surgery.

--All injured are believed to be military personnel.

9:58pm Central -- According to military press conference featuring Lt. General Mark A. Milley:

--4pm a solider fired in First Brigade Medical area.

--15 minutes later first responders engaged shooter and later shot self.

--No indication that this incident is related to terrorism. Currently not ruling any motives out.

--ATF, FBI, DPS, Texas Rangers, KPD, Army CID, MPs investigating case.

--Confirmed 3 deaths plus shooter.

--16 injured

--Any information related to incident please contact FBI.

--Had mental health issues and was in diagnosis process for PTSD.

--Will not confirm identity until next-of-kin have been notified.

--Served 4 months in Iraq in 2011—no physical wounds.

--Suspect Opened fire in one building, drove to another in vehicle, was engaged in parking lot by military police.

--Used a .45 caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic pistol.

--No  confirmation that shooting was caused by argument.

--Arrived at Ft. Hood in Feb 2014 from another military installation.

--14 injuries from gunfire, falls and broken glass.

9:01pm Central --"The big voice has spoken" to indicate that the lockdown on post has been lifted. In addition, local medical providers are announcing that blood supplies remain ample. No immediate need for donations.

KCEN-TV has now confirmed reports of a shooting to be accurate.

"There are reports of one dead and at least eight injured. Those injured patients are being transported to a nearby hospital.

"We have reports of an active shooter on Fort Hood.

"We have reports that there are several injuries from this shooting. There is at least one patient being transported to the hospital.

"We are also getting reports of victims in the Battle Simulation Center on 65th and Warehouse.

"The suspect is still at large. The shooter was said to be in building 33026 which is the Medical Brigade Building.

"Reports have said that he was driving a gray Toyota, described as a white male in an Army Combat Uniform, and carrying a .45 handgun.

"Fort Hood has been put on lockdown."
