Spy Drone Almost Causes Mid Air Collision With Jet Over Denver

Attack of The Drones

FAA investigating “extremely dangerous” incident

A mystery object, thought to be a military or law enforcement drone, flying in controlled airspace over Denver almost caused a catastrophic mid air crash with a commercial jet Monday.

The pilot of the Cessna jet radioed air traffic controllers to warn them that “A remote controlled aircraft” had flown past his plane far too close for comfort.

“Something just went by the other way … About 20 to 30 seconds ago. It was like a large remote-controlled aircraft.” the pilot said in the transmission that was captured on the live air traffic audio website
liveatc.net.

The craft was reported as being about 8,000 feet above sea level, or about 2,800 feet above the ground, at the time the pilot reported the seeing it. It did not show up on radar.

The type of drones used by NATO typically fly at 10,000 feet and below. Other tactical military drones can fly up to 18,000 feet.
Denver 9Newsreports that the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, which it has described as potentially “extremely dangerous.”

“The threat is there from a collision standpoint,” an FAA spokesman said.

In a statement to
USA Today, the agency said: “The FAA is investigating the incident and will try to positively identify the object the Citation pilot reported, where it came from and who was operating it.”

Aviation expert and former NTSB investigator Greg Feith told 9News that he believed the object could have been either a military or police drone.

“We have something in controlled airspace that poses a danger,” Feith added.

Watch the report:

As we
reported yesterday, the federal
government is rolling out new rules on the use of the unmanned drones this week, with the
Federal Aviation Administration announcing procedures will “streamline” the process through which government agencies, including local
law enforcement, receive licenses to operate the aircraft.

Congress recently passed legislation paving the way for what the FAA predicts will be somewhere in the region of
30,000 drones in operation in US skies by 2020.
Privacy advocates have warnedthat the FAA has not acted to establish any safeguards whatsoever, and that congress is not holding the agency to account.

In addition,
a recently uncovered Air Force documentcircumvents laws and clears the way for the Pentagon to use drones to monitor the activities of Americans.

Constitutional and legal expert Judge Andrew Napolitano, and his Fox News colleague Charles Krauthammer have both warned that the drones could become a literal shooting target for Americans protesting their illegal use for surveillance by the government and the military.

Don't forget to check out the new group Attack of The Drones.

The skies are too crowded already.  Undoubtedly drones will cause accidents.

1st report I heard of this was stated as a "UFO collides with a Mil Jet"

guess the "U" part has been solved ;)

sKYNET IS HERE

Yea it is, they are releasing their beta version of HK's as I type this. Man are things getting weird or what?

It was Superman sent here to save us.

Day one. Drones flying drones. On my dime. Obama flashes his ass again and calls it foreign policy. This is what we get. Typical pathological passivity and lack of moral judgement indicates lobotomy and lack of self control. We are bombing innocent people in a dozen different countries and the public laps up the blood and brandishes their ignorance like a four year old with a loaded pistol pointing at the visiting neighbors. Now this.

Don't blame me. I voted for Rep. Cynthia McKinney.

I have spent hours watching videos of drones the last week and am quite familiar with the sounds they make. Well, last night I heard what sounded like a mini helicopter flying around my neighborhood. Now I couldn't actually see it, but I could definitely hear it. I would say with a 100% confidence that A) that was no plane and B) I know what Helicopters sound like, I lived in downtown Dallas,Texas their blades have a heavy sound cutting through air, and C) I also lived on one of the Great Lakes and have heard plenty of National Guard rescue choppers, not to mention all the news choppers over the years... and this was no helicopter I have ever heard. It sounded like a min helicopter. Sounded exactly like the videos I have been watching on youtube of these drones the police departments are getting.

It's one thing to actually read about this stuff, and watch it on youtube, but when it's outside your door let me tell ya, it's a whole new vibe.

This is precisely what I heard last night around 10:45 p.m

And come to think of it, it's flight path suggested to me that they were giving this thing a test run over the city. Basically, seeing how it would work flying over and observing activity on the city streets.

They probably test these things and train operators in open fields before they let them loose over populated areas. Now that the DoD has given agencies across the country the green light to unleash these wicked little shits, they are giving them test runs over cities now.

Seriously, keep your ears open. You're going to hear these drones before you see them. I was watching a movie laying on the couch last night with the window barely cracked. I heard this sound for about 20 seconds and thought to myself, "that doesn't sound like any helicopter I've ever heard." Then it hit me, "DRONE." I ran outside lol.
