Oklahoma City police are looking for the person or people who left a U-Haul truck downtown Wednesday.
Officers said someone walked into police headquarters about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and told investigators at the information desk that the truck was parked across that street from City Hall. Police said they then discovered the van was stolen.
Investigators said no threat of any kind was made, however, due the recent bombings in Boston and 18th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Murray bombing on Friday, officers proceeded with caution.
Streets were shut down and buildings within a five-block radius were evacuated. After about three hours bomb squad technicians opened the back hatch of the U-Haul and discovered there was nothing inside.
Police said they don't know who stole the truck, but it was taken from the Oklahoma City area. Investigators do not know what if anything was inside the truck at the time it was stolen and whether it was intentionally left in front of City Hall.
