Belinda, he gave up on 'natural Israel' a long time ago. 'Natural Israel' has proven itself an unfaithful wife. Jesus established a new covenant and abolished the old one. We come into the new covenant as the result of faith in the ransom sacrifice, which few Jews have done. Indeed, most Jews repudiate the value of that sacrifice by claiming that the Messiah is yet to come. Here and there individual Jews accept that sacrifice and are welcomed into "the Israel of God", but they do so as individuals and not as a nation.

There is no prophecy for the rebuilding of an earthly temple. God is done with Jerusalem, natural Israel and the Jews. 

Yes, by murdering Jesus they fulfilled prophecy. But I can not give them credit for acting out of a desire to fulfill the prophecies about the death of the Messiah since they denied that Jesus was that Messiah*. No, the Pahrisees of the day, like the Pharisees of today, were only concerned with maintaining their power over others. And to do that, the upstart Jesus had to die.

If you want to deliberately fulfill prophecy (Mt 28:18-20), contact Jehovah's Witnesses. But you are not a gentile. You are of the Israel of God ... the current favored people based on faith, not law.

* There is a sin which cannot be forgiven. It is the denial of the existence of Yehweh and his anointed messiah.

"There is no prophecy for the rebuilding of an earthly temple. God is done with Jerusalem, natural Israel and the Jews. " ... which, if you think about it for a moment, explains why Islam is allowed to desecrate the temple mount by its very presence. Yehweh does not want the temple rebuilt.
