If you find a frequency, a possible antenna might be an old dish tv antenna (or Hughes Net equipment) converted for such use.  I read some time ago about a team of researchers who were able to take control of drones...  MIT perhaps?  Can't remember details but it shows there's more than one way to drown a drone!

I am diligently trying to find out more info on this Jed

Interesting comment by Hollywood.  If this were possible it would need to use a directional antenna, a beam would be possible but I think a dish antenna used for broadcast rather than receiving would be better.  Would also need to know what frequency to use.  Any ideas?

Hey, caught something on a show about it being possible to disable these pesky drones w/ a ham rig and decent antenna. I know enough about HAM to fill a thimble. any real radio people know more about this?? could be informational ;)

Looking for ideas now that I have an HF rig.  For 10 meters (I'm still Tech Class) I'm using a CB base station antenna with an auto tuner and have a good match.  However the antenna is mounted horizontally where the wall meets the ceiling and I seldom get much reception, if any.  The rig is a Ten Tec Argosy.  I may try a vertical ground mounted 10 meter Hamstick as suggested by an engineer friend.  Anyone ever try something like this?

Sorry, its the 1020C Active Antenna not the 1026 SW Noise Canceller. I may get that soon since there is radio frequency interference in the apartment.

Ham and Pork digital radio. I am starting DRM digital reception. Here is what I am doing, it may be helpful to some hams out there. DRM signals are all digital, nothing is analog about it. I think digital ham radio will come soon using digital in voice communications for FM to CD quality voice. So I am building a set up.

I am soon this May going to buy a MFJ-1026C, June, I am getting the CC Crane SW with DRM output. July, I am getting the digital DRM converter to connect to the computer between the box to the portable radio. I may get a SSB kit to couple to my CC Crane SW portable radio. SSB communications is getting old school. We may end up using some kind of digital voice using SSB mode tranmission. So we should get ready soon for it.

Jonesy, Freecorded is great and easy to use. I'm glad you found it and passed on the information. We'll try and connect over the weekend using the national simplex frequency. Just remember I don't have sideband.

JED,
I found the "gimmick" with the Freecorder YouTube vid recorder. Every couple days they toss a commercial that it captures. Even with my dial-up, I don't seem to notifce the bandwidth I am being robbed of. But they are shoret...10-15 seconds...for me, a small enough price to pay, since I was almost ready a year ago to pay a hundred bucks for a recorder.

Other than that, I like it. It grabs the vid into temp memory when you view a YouTube vid; don't even have to start the program. Then just rename it and put it into a permanent place.

Tried to connect with MM over the weekend, but to no avail. Hope you and I have better luck.
