excerpt
Boston police said they will make every effort possible to see if there is a connection between the injuries Officer Dennis Simmonds suffered in the Watertown firefight with the Marathon bombing suspects one year ago and his death last week.
Simmonds' family has said they don't know if there was any connection between his death and Watertown, and instead want to focus on honoring their son.
They declined to have an autopsy conducted.
Without an autopsy, Leone said, "That could make things a little more complicated in getting an expert medical opinion on the cause of death and tying it to the a causal factor."
Both the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Middlesex County District Attorney declined comment. http://www.wcvb.com/news/boston-police-may-investigate-possible-link-between-death-watertown-shootout/25521612?_escaped_fragment_=EAbr1#!EAbr1
