In this day and age you've got a 50/50 chance of being killed by a police encounter after calling them for help. Anyone who doesn't know this or is unable to understand this just isn't paying attention.
Tough lesson to for these folks to have learned, and while I'm not taking the side of psychopathic gang members sides on this, I've got no sympathy for the parents.
The last thing any person suffering from a mental disorder is a visit from a ill-trained hostile thug masquerading as an employee of the state.
