I would say, by all means pay them off in bit-coin. It is worth less than an American dollar. It is backed by nothing but a few punches on a key board. You can't even hold them in your hand or buy anything with them. Just a number on a computer display.

I live in Oklahoma city and the bomb threat was at  Wiley Post Airport, 

Multiple bomb threats were made toward businesses in Oklahoma City Thursday, including at Wiley Post Airport.
More than 20 threats were made via email for locations in Oklahoma City. One of the first threats was reported about 11:45 a.m., said Capt. Bo Mathews, Oklahoma City Police Department spokesman.
None of the threats appeared credible, but Mathews said police were investigating the threats as if they were real. Officers have found nothing credible at locations searched Thursday afternoon.

The originator threatens to blow up buildings if Bit Coins aren't paid out. This is a generic email being sent out.
