Just when he was settled on Mitt Romney being the GOP presidential nominee, Jon Stewart’s excitement level went up multiple notches Monday evening in analyzing Newt Gingrich’s win in South Carolina.

Stewart was particularly intrigued at Gingrich’s excoriation of John King at the CNN debate, when he labeled the journalist’s question about him requesting an “open marriage” with his 2nd wife as “despicable.”

“As close to despicable as you could imagined?” he asked. “You imagine your wife while she was dealing with having MS (multiple sclerosis) would be open to you having sex with another lady you’ve been already having sex with for six f—king years. I think you have a plenty good imagination despicability wise.”

Al Madrigal then interviewed a very enthusiasticMitt Romney supporter.

Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert looked at how Newt Gingrich attacked the mediain his recent debates.

And after South Carolina, Stephen has decided to end his exploratory bid for President, but there may be a hitch with his super PAC.

Then Stephen took a look back on his rally with Herman Cain.
