On February 24th, Beggs beat fellow wrestler Chelsea Sanchez in the Class 6A Region II tournament in Cypress, Texas, to claim the state wrestling title. His win was met with mixed cheers and boos from spectators. Asa Merritt, a West Texas reporter speaking to NPR, said that “there was jeering and jawing.” He added “People said things like, you know, ‘He doesn’t belong there. He should be on a different mat.’ It was really intense.”
Beggs has faced controversy on his way up to the top. The UIL permits Beggs to participate while taking testosterone because it’s a low dose and it’s prescribed by a physician, but many of the parents of his fellow wrestlers are angry that he is competing against girls.

You thought he would have tried to look the part of a girl by shaving his armpits. I'm surprised the girls haven't hazed this trans-it, or possibly done worse by cutting his junk down to their female equivalency.
Comment by skip barker on May 29, 2018 at 3:37pm It or he is not a girl, so when you choose to take to the mat with it or him, then you are actually sanctioning it or him. If all would refuse to take to the mat, and were willing to stand together in a forfiet then his rise would be of little value and his record would always be questioned. Let him or it claim the state title without ever having a real oppenent, and it has little if any value. But that would require good people to come together for something that might require a sacrafice, and most would rather someone else sacrifice for them now days.
