BOM never reports lowest maximum temperatures. For the obvious reason, I think.

The hottest temp ever in my zone was 42.4 c in 1973 and just for interest the coldest temp ever remembered was - 21.6 c in 1995. Dire climate warming ? No I don't think so.

117?! No thanks. I just came near to heat stroke back in August when I had to carry a rubble pile from a brick wall in buckets, 150 yards, uphill (22 trips). It was 92 F and 99% humidity. Not a nice place to visit, and wouldn't want to live there. Last time before that I was running six progressive O.D. grinders with four foot grinding wheels. They came with fume hoods to blow the steam outside, but the Jap plant manager had them removed to save a few bucks in electricity. It was 105 F, high humidity. Then I got stuck in traffic on the way home for an hour, with no AC. Did get heat stroke then. Never again. I'll visit Australia on the web, thanks.
